The Kentucky Innocence Project investigates cases of wrongful conviction and looks for new evidence that is strong enough to overturn a current Kentucky conviction. If an investigation determines that strong evidence exists, then we will enter into litigation for our clients. The Kentucky Innocence Project litigates cases of wrongful conviction for Kentuckians that are factually innocent, engages with policy makers to improve and reform the criminal justice system to reduce error, and has a presence at all three Kentucky law schools to educate students on errors in the criminal justice system.
We provide litigation support in the area of factual investigations and the use of experts in
assessing and presenting claims in Kentucky courts.
Attorney, staff and legal extern support in specialized education in the areas of
forensics and wrongful conviction.
We provide exoneree support for those that have been released from prison.
